Accountant

Job description

Meridiam is looking to add a corporate accountant to strengthen the team and help to support growth.

This position will report to the Accountant within a team supervised by the Senior Financial Controller and is based in Meridiam’s office in Washington DC:

  • Preparation of accounting entries into Quickbooks
  • Setup wires, bill payments and expense reimbursements
  • Preparation and issuance of outgoing invoices and collect supporting documentation
  • Bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Maintain fixed asset schedules
  • Preparing reconciliations of account balances
  • Support the internal and external audit functions through preparation of various workpapers and providing supporting schedules and documents
  • Assist tax team with various monthly, quarterly and annual tax filings and payments
  • Assist with monthly accounting & reporting for the management company and related entities
  • Prepare annual 1099s
  • Prepare various forecasts and ad hoc analysis on an as needed basis

Job requirements

  • 3+ years of experience required in Accounting
  • BS in Accounting preferred
  • Strong operational capabilities with Quickbooks software
  • Strong analytical and communication (oral and written) skills
  • Proficient in MS Word and Excel
  • Detail oriented, adaptable and proactive
  • Analytical capacities and a team spirit should enable the right candidate to adapt to an international and multi-cultural organization, experiencing rapid growth
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and transactions simultaneously
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize assignments, and to meet critical and established deadlines
  • Flexibility to take on new tasks and projects as they arise
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to interact with individuals from all levels of the organization.
