Job description

The Accounting Associate will support the Senior Accountant and Accounting Manager in the day-to-day accounting and financial close activities of several entities. The role requires a good level of autonomy, ownership of assigned accounting processes, and regular coordination with operational teams and other support functions. The  Accounting Associate will report to the Accounting Manager and will be based in the Paris office.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Record and review day-to-day accounting transactions, including supplier invoices, expense reports, bank transactions and cash movements, for several entities.

  • Manage supplier accounts, including account reconciliation, payment follow-up and resolution of discrepancies with internal stakeholders.

  • Perform bank reconciliations and support the monitoring of cash balances.

  • Contribute to monthly, quarterly and year-end closing activities, including account reconciliations, supporting schedules and reporting files.

  • Prepare VAT returns and assist with other recurring tax and statutory reporting requirements.

  • Maintain complete and accurate accounting documentation and support internal and external audit requests.

  • Identify and follow up on outstanding items, propose practical solutions and contribute to continuous improvements in accounting processes and controls.

  • Prepare Financial Statement for several entities

Job requirements

  • Higher education qualification in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration, such as a Master’s Degree (DSCG or Master CCA)

  • Two to four years of relevant accounting experience, including apprenticeships, internships or an initial permanent role.

  • Good knowledge of general accounting principles and practical experience with accounts payable, bank reconciliations and year-end closing  activities.

  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, reliability and the ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines.

  • Proactive and comfortable working independently, while knowing when to escalate issues and seek guidance.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with finance and non-finance stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and experience with accounting software; knowledge of Sage and Yooz would be an advantage.

  • Fluent in French and English
